Bereavement Ministry

Most people experience a sense of loss in their lives (e.g. mostly through the death of a loved one or a good friend; or because of separation or divorce; or redundancy from employment, etc), and this inevitably brings a time of grief and bereavement.

While some people are fortunate to have others around them to help them through this time, there are those who need support in other ways, or who need something more than they receive from elsewhere.

For the people of Allestree, and the surrounding areas there is a Bereavement Support Group which meets on the 1st Thursday of each month, starting at 7.30pm, and ending by 9.00pm, at Woodlands Evangelical Church (corner of Woodlands Road and Blenheim Drive), in Allestree.

This is not a telephone or counselling service, but will give those going through grief and bereavement the space to be themselves, to get support from, or maybe even give support to, others in similar circumstances, and a team of facilitators will be present at each meeting to walk part of their journey with them.

This Support Group is open to any adult who is going through a time of grief and bereavement, and they may be accompanied by someone else if that would be helpful.

There is no charge for this Support Group.

If you know of someone who might benefit from this Bereavement Support Group, please share this information with them, and encourage them to come along on the 1st Thursday evening of any month.
